How to deposit ETH for vETH
vETH can be used across the Cronos zkEVM Ecosystem. It is pegged 1:1 to ETH but you can earn yield just by holding it. Depositing ETH also earns you points in the pioneer program.
Before depositing ETH via the bridge
First, you need to hold ETH on Ethereum. You can purchase ETH via one of the following ways:
Swap on Uniswap
Buy on a centralized exchange and withdraw to Ethereum
Bridging ETH from Ethereum to Cronos zkEVM
1. Head to https://zkevm.cronos.org and connect your wallet
2. On the “Deposit” tab, in the “FROM” field select ETH. vETH will be automatically selected in the “TO” field.
3. Enter the amount of ETH to bridge. Keep in mind that some additional ETH is needed to pay the gas fees.
4. Click “Deposit”.
5. Confirm ETH deposit transaction
6. Your vETH should arrive in less than 10 minutes. You can check your vETH wallet balance in the top right hand corner.
